About the work
Founded in Paris in March 1981 under the aegis of the poet and visual artist Jirí KOLÁR (1914-2002) — an emblematic figure of the Czech artistic dissidence who was then beginning an exile of nearly twenty years in the French capital —, the Revue K association applied itself, in its quarterly periodical, to making known primarily the representatives of the post-1968 Czech and Slovak diaspora.
The fifty-three issues published to date thus bring together samples of the work of more than a hundred painters and sculptors scattered to the four corners of the world. Beyond a simple review, the purpose is to observe and study over the long term the evolution of the artistic sensibilities of these creators integrated into the most diverse environments and cultures.
