About the Work

The lithographs were printed by hand on a handpress at Idem-Mourlot on 250g pure rag Arches BFK Rives vellum paper.

This edition comes as close as possible to the quality of the 1947 stencils: freshness and brilliance of the colors, depth of the blacks. Some inks were even specially created for this edition in order to match as closely as possible the unique blues and fuchsias specific to Matisse.
